A 68 mm Fin-Ray blade that nobody currently remembers supplying — and that the entire v4 geometry chain is still built on top of. Here is everything the repo knows about it.
generate_blade_arcsweep.scad:22 sets src = "REAL_Gripper_Blade.stl".
Every v4 mesh descends from it. Archiving it with the other 59 superseded STLs would break
the build outright, so it stayed — but it fits the profile of the old files that should not
be trusted as a measurement reference.
Suggested and not yet done: keep it, rename it to something that states what it is
(e.g. SOURCE-ONLY_operator_3mf_blade_68mm.stl), and note in
AUTHORITATIVE.md that it is a geometry source, never a dimension reference.
The rename touches four scad files.
A classic Fin-Ray: triangular frame tapering to a point, a ladder of ribs across the middle, and a row of small friction nubs down the grip edge.
| Source | What it claims |
|---|---|
| HARDWARE.md:627 | "the blade extracted from the 3MF the operator supplied" |
| CONTINUE.md:820 | "the operator's own original file" |
| generate_blade_fan_cradle.scad:40 | "the operator's supplied 3MF, object_4" |
| AUTHORITATIVE.md:24 | the mounting foot (z ≤ −27) of the parametric blade is still this file's real mesh |
| AUTHORITATIVE.md:65 | distinguishes it from the generic upstream download, which has a different long axis (Y, 92 mm) and full-height ribs at ≈11.5 mm pitch |
